All the motifs for this design came from the background of a 17th century Indian wall hanging. The colouring is in same style as the original document, white outlines on a coloured ground. Our printed stripe BANDANA (shown on chair) is based on smaller motifs from the same panel.
Part of our new Wax Works Collection, inspired by antique artworks from different cultures and different centuries, all executed in the same wax resist technique.
